Hyundai Venue Reviews Flemington NJ

Hyundai is adding another, smaller SUV to its lineup-the 2020 Venue. This compact SUV will be available in the fourth quarter of 2019, with a rumored release date sometime in October.

Fred Beans Hyundai of Flemington is proud to present a 2020 Hyundai Venue preview, so you know what to expect when it becomes available. If you'll soon be shopping for a compact SUV in Flemington, Hillsborough, Bridgewater, or Somerville, keep reading!

Compact Design

Coming in at 159 inches long, the 2020 Venue will be one of the smallest SUVs on the market. Its cousin the Kona, in comparison, is 164 inches long. Despite its small size, the Venue will seat five. Its squared-off shape means each passenger will have plenty of headroom: 39.4 inches in the front and 38.6 inches in the rear.

When all five seats are in use, there will be 18.7 cubic feet of cargo volume available in the rear. Fold down the 60/40-split folding rear seats to enjoy more room-31.9 cubic feet, to be exact. Additional storage features include a cargo shelf for privacy. Meanwhile, the dual-level cargo floor can be raised to stay level with the seats when folded flat or lowered for more height.

You can tell the 2020 Hyundai Venue was created for urban convenience, beyond its compact design. The front fascia is similar to the Hyundai Kona, but the rest of the exterior is much boxier.

The exterior will be available in eight colors. Like the Toyota RAV4, the Venue will offer 2-tone paint options as well. One option is a denim paint color with white roof. This can be paired with a unique denim and leatherette interior trim. Other interior options include gray or black cloth.

Efficient Performance

The 2020 Venue will be front-wheel drive. However, it comes with a Drive Mode Select that includes snow mode, so you can get increased traction in the winter even without all-wheel drive.

Under the hood, you'll find a Gamma 1.6L 4-cylinder engine that's expected to generate 121 horsepower and 113 lb-ft of torque. Surprisingly, this is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, something you can't really find in other Hyundai SUVs.

For drivers who aren't interested in shifting their own gears, a Smartstream Intelligent Variable Transmission will also be available. IVT is the next generation of Continuously Variable Transmissions, and this will be the first of its type available in a Hyundai model.

Official numbers are not yet available, but the entire package is expected to get a Hyundai-estimated 33 MPG combined.

Next-Generation Tech

An 8-inch color display touchscreen will be your command center for infotainment in the Hyundai Venue. It comes standard with features like Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, and a rearview monitor.

If you opt for a model with the next-generation Blue Link® Connected Car System, you'll be able to control certain systems remotely. This includes Amazon Alexa™ and Google Assistant™ integration, so you can use your voice-enabled device to start the vehicle from inside your home or office.

This feature of course comes with added security: it won't start unless you provide the proper PIN. Thanks to system upgrades, you can even control things like the rear defroster and heated side mirrors-if equipped-straight from your Hyundai Blue Link® mobile app or web page.
